Cyril Williams is a Canadian visual artist based in Toronto. His dream-like approach to his creative work is inspiring and quite often visually breathtaking. Cyril has exhibited locally and around the globe as a painter, sculptor and an installation artist for a number of years. In 2015 he exhibited at the 56th Annual La Biennale di Venizia, Figment Toronto and Nuit Blanche with interactive projects and installations.
Williams’s project for [Re]2 looked at the four central themes of sustainability: cultural vitality, economic health, social equity and environmental responsibility and examined them through a day long participatory installation project that embraced the idea of change and adaptation. It took the idea of resilience as it refers to a community’s ability to creatvely adjust and sustain itself in light of rapid and occasionally negatve change and manifested this through limited resourcing and short timeframes for installation completion.
